Work by Jaco Van Schalkwyk will be included in the exhibition When Wild Woods Whisper curated by Donavan Mynhardt at the Rust-en-Vrede Gallery.
With the modernization of civilization, humans have lost their connection to and awe of the mysterious forests of the world, hacking down the viridescent sentinels en masse for the sake of a growing world economy. This exhibition attempts to re-root our veneration of the primordial forest; nudging us gently on to take heed and listen when the wild woods whisper.
