In an effort to be proactive and help contain the spread of the global outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that is now in South Africa and Cape Town specifically, Barnard will temporarily close to the public - effective immediately.
 
Please note that this decision has been deliberated extensively and not taken lightly, but in order to prioritize the safety of our staff, artists, visitors, and neighbours, we believe that it is not only appropriate but imperative that we take this decisive early action. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause but trust that you will both understand and respect our decision.
 
For the remainder of our current exhibition Record / Play by Swedish born South African painter Tom Cullberg we will receive visitors by appointment only – requests to do so should be directed to gallery@barnardgallery.com.
 
Our staff will remain available by email to answer any enquiries related to our artists, future exhibitions and availability of art works. We look forward to remaining in contact with you via our various online platforms including the gallery website, Artsy, Facebook and Instagram during this time.
