Barnard is please to present PAINTER PAINTER! – an exhibition of work by selected artists engaging with the medium and material of paint. Diverse in their approach and process, each of these studio-based painters nonetheless shares a common commitment to, and celebration of, the medium with its many histories.
Characterized by both repetition and reactivation of a language with numerous dialects, this exhibition explores emergent developments in painting and the ever-shifting role of the painter in contemporary art and culture, which remains as fluid, and arguably relevant, as the medium itself.
